They engaged a catering and serve two types of dishes.  Nasi Minyak and Nasi Ayam.  Simply cannot enjoy the foods since need to help out for the wedding. Anyway both dishes taste good and a lot of cakes and goodies were served at that wedding.

Mee Bandung @ Tg Agas, Muar

After cooling down with coconut shake we continue our journey back to Jb. Then we stop at Muar for lunch. Here the most popular dish that synonym with Muar is Mee Bandung and considered the best and tastiest. So many restaurant and stall selling Mee Bandung in Muar, after enlighten by the local we try to sample this dish at Mee Bandung Central, infront of Muar Science School.

Mee Bandung

The gravy concoction offers a spectrum of sweet, sour, tangy and spicy taste. The aroma just whetted my appetite instantaneously. Sweetness of Shrimp taste immediately disperses in your mouth whenever you gobble down the mee and that thick gravy. Among all the Mee or Noodles, Mee Bandung can be considered my favourite noodle dish. But there’s another version of Mee Bandung that include meat and crushed peanut.  There’s one restaurant in Kong Kong, Pasir Gudang that serve almost perfect Mee Bandung and can be considered among the best in the world. Next time I will review that restaurant. Until now, Mee Bandung is always been the iconic of Muar.

Beside Mee Bandung, they also served Kupang Bakar Berlada or Barbecue Chillies Mussels. Funny thing is, I don’t like mussels but this dish makes me change my opinions. Extremely delicious, the thick sauce of chillies with a touch of lemons to add some zing.

Of course, there are so many place that serve good Mee Bandung at Muar Area but I believe this place can be considered among the best at Muar.

Coconut Shake @ Kg. Alai, Melaka

Check out from hotel, and we hang out at lowyat plaza to seek for Ipad2 unfortunately same as in JB, sold out. On the way back to JB we stop by at Malacca, to search of something refreshing.  It was sweltering hot day in Malacca and we need something fast to ease our state of dehydration. We want to go to Klebang but idham drive to Tg Alai instead to taste the infamous coconut shake.  We saw so many people lining up patiently, make us even wondered what the fuss was all about.

Coconut Shake With Vanilla Ice Cream

We waited for about 30 minutes before we could sip this taste of heaven. Extremely refreshing, juicy and creamy all at the same time.  Imagine fresh coconut flesh and water, ice cube and scoop of vanilla ice cream crush together and mix into one blend of coconut shake. Put another scoop of vanilla ice cream…Wala, you’ll have coconut shake float. This is a simple and yet amazing beverage, make you craving for more. But if they can add ice cream soda into this beverage it would be totally awesome.

Subway Melt @ Subway, Bukit Bintang

From Dk’s house took about 1 hour before we arrived in Kuala Lumpur at 12:00 midnite, Check in at budget hotel at Bintang Walk cost about RM240 per room (Divide by 5 around RM48/person). Then we hang out at Bukit Bintang Plaza Food Stall to watch a live telecast of European League Championship between Man U vs Barcelona. Really exciting match to watch Man. U been beaten by powerhouse Barcelona.  Surprisingly, the price of drinks at Bukit Bintang really chopped head, 5 glasses of beverage milo and Nescafe cost us about RM28 (RM5.60/glass ). I’ll be damned.
Next morning, have breakfast at Subway. In JB, we cannot find any subway restaurant, probably 7 years ago they opened one branch at Komtar but sadly close liau…

Subway Melt suppose to look like below

Damn Delicious Subway Melt

Really mouth watering, just imagine fresh toasted on the freshly baked bread stuffed with tender sliced turkey, ham, crispy bacon, melted cheese, and choices of tasty and fresh vegetables and condiments. You won’t regret it.

Nasi Minyak @ Hishamudin's (DK) Wedding, Temerloh

At last around 9:30pm we safely reached at DK’s house. We met his relatives and parents. Nice and friendly folks even though DK’s father is an Assistance Chief Commissioner of Temerloh Police, Pahang.  Since already night time, we just had whatever leftover from the wedding. Still they have a pot of Lamb Shank Kurma and Dhalcha. Grab a plate straight away and enjoy the foods.

Nasi Minyak with Mutton Kurma & Dhalcha

Nasi Minyak is synonym with wedding reception ( kenduri kahwin ).  Translation of this dish is not oily rice but scented rice. The rice is cooked with butter, ginger, coconut milk, spices, raisins and almonds. Normally when Elder Malay said about NasI Minyak to somebody it means to ask when they are getting married. Food taste got nothing to complaint, rice is long & fluffy, only got two dishes left  but more than enough since you can have unlimited serving. I ate more than 3 pieces of lamb shank or gearbox Kurma.
