Coconut Shake @ Kg. Alai, Melaka

Check out from hotel, and we hang out at lowyat plaza to seek for Ipad2 unfortunately same as in JB, sold out. On the way back to JB we stop by at Malacca, to search of something refreshing.  It was sweltering hot day in Malacca and we need something fast to ease our state of dehydration. We want to go to Klebang but idham drive to Tg Alai instead to taste the infamous coconut shake.  We saw so many people lining up patiently, make us even wondered what the fuss was all about.

Coconut Shake With Vanilla Ice Cream

We waited for about 30 minutes before we could sip this taste of heaven. Extremely refreshing, juicy and creamy all at the same time.  Imagine fresh coconut flesh and water, ice cube and scoop of vanilla ice cream crush together and mix into one blend of coconut shake. Put another scoop of vanilla ice cream…Wala, you’ll have coconut shake float. This is a simple and yet amazing beverage, make you craving for more. But if they can add ice cream soda into this beverage it would be totally awesome.

Subway Melt @ Subway, Bukit Bintang

From Dk’s house took about 1 hour before we arrived in Kuala Lumpur at 12:00 midnite, Check in at budget hotel at Bintang Walk cost about RM240 per room (Divide by 5 around RM48/person). Then we hang out at Bukit Bintang Plaza Food Stall to watch a live telecast of European League Championship between Man U vs Barcelona. Really exciting match to watch Man. U been beaten by powerhouse Barcelona.  Surprisingly, the price of drinks at Bukit Bintang really chopped head, 5 glasses of beverage milo and Nescafe cost us about RM28 (RM5.60/glass ). I’ll be damned.
Next morning, have breakfast at Subway. In JB, we cannot find any subway restaurant, probably 7 years ago they opened one branch at Komtar but sadly close liau…

Subway Melt suppose to look like below

Damn Delicious Subway Melt

Really mouth watering, just imagine fresh toasted on the freshly baked bread stuffed with tender sliced turkey, ham, crispy bacon, melted cheese, and choices of tasty and fresh vegetables and condiments. You won’t regret it.

Breakfast Cheese & Egg
Simply delicious. Fluffy egg omelet with melted cheese fresh toasted on freshly baked bread.

Wide Selection of Topping & Filling

I hope Subway will reopen again in Johor Bahru in the future.

Nasi Minyak @ Hishamudin's (DK) Wedding, Temerloh

At last around 9:30pm we safely reached at DK’s house. We met his relatives and parents. Nice and friendly folks even though DK’s father is an Assistance Chief Commissioner of Temerloh Police, Pahang.  Since already night time, we just had whatever leftover from the wedding. Still they have a pot of Lamb Shank Kurma and Dhalcha. Grab a plate straight away and enjoy the foods.

Nasi Minyak with Mutton Kurma & Dhalcha

Nasi Minyak is synonym with wedding reception ( kenduri kahwin ).  Translation of this dish is not oily rice but scented rice. The rice is cooked with butter, ginger, coconut milk, spices, raisins and almonds. Normally when Elder Malay said about NasI Minyak to somebody it means to ask when they are getting married. Food taste got nothing to complaint, rice is long & fluffy, only got two dishes left  but more than enough since you can have unlimited serving. I ate more than 3 pieces of lamb shank or gearbox Kurma.

BK Single Black Pepper @ Burger King, Skudai

On 28th May, we went to Temerloh, Pahang to attend our colleague’s wedding.  It’s on Saturday and we’re working that day and definitely we won’t be able to watch his wedding reception. Anyway, as promised we still going to Temerloh even though we might reach there at night time. There are 5 of us participated in this journey.  We departed from Masai,Jb  at 15:00 and since this will be a long journey we decided to stop by at Burger King, Petronas Skudai to refuel ourselves.  4 of us ordered Burger King and Idham’s for Dunkin Donut. I chose BK Single Black Pepper Set including fresh fries and soft drink.

BK Single Black Pepper & Fries

Nice Big Bite
This is a mouth watering goodness made from 62gm flame-grilled beef patty, crunchy lettuce, fresh onions and creamy mayonnaise and topped with tangy black pepper sauce for that extra zing!  Taste different from Mc Donald and I really love the taste of their black pepper sauce. If you’re on the way to north before skudai’s toll, you won’t miss the big signboard of Burger King at Petronas Petrol Station.

Cheese Pretzel Dog @ Auntie Anne's Pretzel, City Square

Last week went to City Square JB to check  for Ipad2 but unfortunately it’s all sold out and you have to wait for a month for next shipment stock…What the heck. Anyway, whenever I went to City Square, I’d never missed to stop at Auntie Anne’s Pretzel. Looked over all the offerings and decided on the Cinnamon Sugar Pretzel and Cheese Pretzel Dog.

Pretzel Dog with Caramel Dip
OMG….this thing was great. Nice plump juicy hot dog and that great pretzel exterior smothered in cheese. Expect to queue, especially this pretzel dog always sold out and they have to prepare it again but it’s not so bad because the buttery and cheesy goodness that awaits you is really worth it.

Cinnamon Sugar Pretzel
This is one of my all time favourite, would like to taste others but at the end still chose this flavor. Fresh from oven..Sweet & Yummy.

Rotisserie Chicken @ Kenny Roger's Roaster, Tesco Extra

Had eaten couple of times at this restaurant, but never had a chance to review. So far, I would say that my experiences there had been quite pleasant in terms of foods but service wise a little bit disappointment.  Before I went to Korea, we had opportunity to have lunch at one of this outlet at Tesco Plentong.  One of the good reasons because the serving is big and there is a good variety of side dishes to choose from.  We took Quarter Meal Set consists of quarter chicken with 3 side dishes and one Kenny’s home-made muffin.

1/4 Chicken Meal
The roast chicken is good with a coating of glaze of herbs and spices on the chicken skin. Kenny Rogers roasted the chicken almost fatless. It makes me feel less guilty to eat. I picked Macaroni Cheese, Rice and Coleslaw for side dishes….and it taste as good as it looks.

Chocolate, Vanilla & Banana Muffins
The muffin tasted extremely delicious especially my favorite banana muffin.  Whatever flavor you choose, you won’t be disappointed.

Ice Blended Chocolate Extra
The only downside was the service. At Jusco Tebrau, the place was too crowded, sometime you have to wait for long queue and at Tesco Plentong. No queue, but fewer workers. At the end had to wait more than 30 minutes for our meal. More the less the same...

Anyway, Kenny Roger’s Restaurant provides healthier alternative of roasted chicken that you’ll be craving for more.

Cream Puff @ Beard Papa's, City Square

I’ve always been a fan of classic cream puff. There is a big hype about Beard Papa’s cream puff. So I went to City Square, Jb to get the taste of it. It was good. The cream puff was not too sweet. But be careful during your first bite, the cream filling might ooze out. I’ve tried the vanilla, which was good, and the mango which was better, unfortunately durian was sold out, otherwise it would be the best.

Creamy Filling of Vanilla Custard
From the Beard Papa’s website, the original recipe custard was discovered in Osaka, Japan. This vanilla custard is made with all natural ingredients and abundant with highest quality, imported vanilla bean grains.  The tennis ball sized cream puffs is filled with custard in arrays of difference flavors. In Malaysia, they also provide Durian flavor. This is a very delicious and satisfying snack and dessert. If you haven’t had a cream puff from Beard Papa’s, you’ve gotta check this location out. So far it’s one of the best cream puffs. So the title of the “World’s Best Cream Puff” was certainly not given in vain.

Cham Pong " Spicy Seafood Noodle" @ InCheon Airport's Food Capital, Seoul

Departed from Gim Hae Airport at 11:00am and arrived at Gim Po Airport about 55 minutes later. Then we took a bus to InCheon Airport.  Here, we had a very last tour to check and buy some souvenir. This was my 8th times visited to Korea so quite difficult to buy since everything already bought last time. Then, decided just to buy some Korean chocolate. Our flight schedule at 16:00, we still can have our final meal before return to Malaysia. Checked out the InCheon Airport Food Capital and ordered Spicy Seafood Noodle.

Champong
Also got Banchan

According to the local, Cham Pong is a fusion dish of Japanese and Chinese food. It’s a popular noodle dish that is prepared in a red, spicy seafood broth containing hearty vegetables and variety of seafood. The noodles are mixed with seafood such as squids, shrimps, clams and scallions. Fresh vegetables like onions, red peppers, green onion as well as many others are included in this dish to compliment the spiciness of the base soup.  Light meal and I really love it…
